DixonSmith, Rural Chartered Surveyors based in Exeter, Devon had a website that was outdated and did not accurately represent their brand or services.

With our help they decided to embark on the process of designing and building a new site in 2023. The website’s primary goal was not to generate new business, as their portfolio was already full. Instead, it aimed to validate their company’s legitimacy, showcase the team’s credentials, and provide a convenient online contact method.

The first part of the process was to create a wireframe, using visual representations of the website structure and layout to determine the navigation and optimise user experience.

By incorporating visual elements like colour schemes, typography, and imagery into the wireframe, we were able to provide the client with a clear preview of the website’s final appearance before they approved the design for development.

We built the site in WordPress, creating the content, ensuring it was well organised and pages were easy to find.

The website started with a basic structure of four pages: Home, How We Work, What We Do and Who We Are. A fith page, ‘Work with Us’ was added in August 2024.

To meet the client’s desire for a visually engaging website, the homepage included a series of four animated videos in the header. Furthermore, several photographs were animated to give the impression of ‘flying’ onto the page.

The final stage was to test the site across different browsers and devices to ensure optimal performance and compatibility. Testing the sites functionality thoroughly allowed us to identify and fix any issues prior to launch.

The website went live in April 2024 and continues to be actively maintained and updated.
